Location: Primarily Remote (Ireland) with occasional travel to the Dublin office and industry events

About the Company
A growing Irish engineering and technology company specialising in industrial automation, product marking, labelling, vision inspection, and bespoke engineering solutions is seeking an ambitious Business Development Executive.
The company partners with leading manufacturers across sectors including medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and other advanced manufacturing industries, delivering innovative solutions that improve productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
As the business continues to expand, this role will focus on growing the customer base, generating new opportunities, and building strong, long-term relationships with prospective clients.
What You'll Be Doing
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within targeted markets
- Take an organised, consistent, and resilient approach to generating new opportunities
- Proactively prospect new customers through outbound calls, email campaigns, LinkedIn networking, and referrals
- Introduce qualified new opportunities to the technical sales team, with performance measured against agreed business development targets
- Build relationships with key decision-makers, including Engineering Managers, Operations Managers, Manufacturing Managers, and Project Engineers
- Understand customer requirements and identify suitable solutions and opportunities
- Maintain and manage a healthy pipeline of prospective customers
- Work closely with sales and engineering teams to support business growth
- Attend customer meetings, exhibitions, networking events, and industry conferences
- Achieve agreed KPIs relating to business development activity, pipeline growth, and revenue generation
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience in business development, sales, or account management within a B2B environment
- Proven track record of identifying and generating new business opportunities and developing long-term client relationships
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
- Comfortable engaging with technical stakeholders and learning new technologies
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a primarily remote role
- Experience using CRM systems to manage sales activity
Desirable
- Experience selling technical, engineering, manufacturing, or industrial solutions
- Knowledge of automation, engineering, medical device, or pharmaceutical industries would be advantageous but is not essential
- Experience in consultative or solution-based sales environments
Note: The successful candidate must hold full working eligibility for Ireland.
