Market Development Manager

We are partnering with a growing industrial packaging manufacturer seeking a highly motivated Market Development Manager to drive new business growth across a multi-state territory. This is a true hunter-style outside sales role focused on prospecting, cold outreach, and developing new customer relationships within manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, and industrial environments. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, self-directed, and energized by building a territory from the ground up!

**MUST be willing to travel to cover a multi-state territory. ** Approximately 75% of activity will be concentrated in the Chicago market, but this role requires 1 overnight per week.

What You’ll Do

• Prospect and develop new business within the assigned territory
• Generate pipeline through cold calling, networking, door knocking, and outbound outreach
• Conduct discovery meetings and consultative sales presentations
• Sell industrial packaging and shipping solutions to operations and plant leadership
• Manage opportunities through the sales cycle and maintain CRM activity
• Partner with internal teams to drive territory growth and close new business

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of outside B2B sales experience
• Proven prospecting and cold-calling experience
• Strong hunter mentality with a passion for new business development
• Ability to work independently and manage territory activity with minimal oversight
• Experience in packaging, industrial products, logistics, manufacturing, or related industries is preferred
• College degree preferred, but not required
