Business Development Manager

Location: Remote (must be based in LA)
Job Type: Direct Hire
Overview
We're looking for an experienced Business Development Manager who loves opening doors, building relationships and winning new business. This isn't a role where you'll inherit a large client list—you'll be responsible for identifying opportunities, getting in front of decision makers, and turning conversations into long-term partnerships.
You'll work closely with our creative, design and project teams to develop innovative retail solutions for leading consumer brands. If you're someone who gets excited by creating opportunities rather than waiting for them, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Identify and secure new business opportunities across retail, FMCG, health & beauty, liquor, technology and consumer brands.
- Build relationships with Marketing Managers, Shopper Marketing teams, Procurement and Brand Managers.
- Generate your own pipeline through networking, LinkedIn, referrals and strategic prospecting.
- Present The Xine's capabilities to prospective clients.
- Work alongside our creative team to develop winning concepts and proposals.
- Manage opportunities from first introduction through to signed projects.
- Attend client meetings, industry events and trade shows.
- Achieve sales targets while maintaining exceptional client relationships.
Requirements
- Experience in business development, account management, retail marketing, shopper marketing, point-of-sale displays, print, packaging, visual merchandising, brand activations, or a related field.
- Proven track record of generating leads and winning new business.
- Confidence presenting to and building relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of client needs.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to develop solutions to client challenges.
- Experience selling customized solutions rather than standalone products.
- Experience within retail display, print, packaging, or manufacturing is highly preferred but not required.
