What you will do
As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at OTIV, you will be at the forefront of expanding our customer base across Europe, identifying new business opportunities, and generating leads. You will focus on qualifying inbound leads and prospecting potential clients inrail, ranging from railway undertakings to large industrial customers, helping to build long-term partnerships. You’ll start building relationships with C-level executives and closely work with the rest of the Sales team as a key player in OTIV’s growth. As part of the Sales Team, you’ll be a vital contributor in shaping OTIV's future in the rail industry!
Tasks and responsibilities
As a BDR at OTIV you will
- Generate and qualify new business leads through cold calls, emails, networking, and social selling.
- Research and identify potential clients amongst major rail operators, industrial customers, and rolling stock manufacturers.
- Set up meetings and demos by contacting decision-makers and presenting OTIV's solutions.
- Maintain and update accurate records of customer interactions and lead statuses in the CRM system.
- Collaborate closely with the Sales Lead & Account Executives to refine messaging and ensure effective lead nurturing.
- Represent OTIV at events and fairs to grow presence and network.
- Degree in business administration, (industrial) engineering, or similar
- 2+ years of experience in a sales development or business development role, preferably in tech or B2B sales.
- Knowledge of and experience in generating and qualifying leads through cold outreach and other prospecting methods.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Fluency in English, Dutch and French. Any other European language is a strong plus.
- Hands-on / self-driven mentality and analytical / data-driven mindset.
- Enthusiasm for & interest in cutting-edge technology.
- Knowledge of and experience in the fields of logistics, railway, self-driving technology or hardware/software/platform-as-a-service businesses is a strong plus.
- Experience of working in a fast-paced scale-up environment is a strong plus.
