Role Description This full-time remote Business Development Manager role is responsible for identifying, prospecting, and securing new partnership opportunities with chambers of commerce, associations, nonprofits, alumni organizations, and other affinity groups. On a day-to-day basis, the Business Development Manager builds and maintains a pipeline of qualified leads, conducts discovery calls, prepares tailored proposals, and delivers presentations that demonstrate AVW’s travel program value. The role collaborates closely with internal teams to align partner needs with destination options, itinerary concepts, and marketing support, ensuring a smooth transition from signed agreement to program launch. The Business Development Manager also nurtures existing partner relationships, monitors performance of travel programs, and provides insights to optimize engagement and revenue. Regular reporting on sales activities, market trends, and partnership outcomes is expected to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated business development or B2B sales skills, including lead generation, pipeline management, and closing new partnership agreements.
- Experience building and managing relationships with organizations such as chambers of commerce, associations, nonprofits, or other membership-based groups.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to executive, board, and committee-level audiences.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to work independently, prioritize multiple initiatives, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
- Comfort with CRM systems, sales reporting tools, and basic proficiency with office productivity software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, slide presentations).
- Knowledge of or interest in the travel industry, group travel programs, and international destinations; prior experience in travel or hospitality is a plus.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret partner needs, market trends, and program performance to recommend solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
