Business Development Specialist – Kazakhstan & CIS (Mining & Mineral Processing)
Full-time | Regional Role
We’re looking for an experienced Business Development Specialist to drive revenue growth, market expansion and technical-commercial success across Kazakhstan and CIS. This is a strategic role at the heart of the mining and mineral-processing sector — ideal for someone who can build senior-level partnerships, identify new opportunities and influence the adoption of innovative process solutions.
You’ll collaborate closely with technical, operations and commercial teams to strengthen market penetration, support customer performance and deliver sustainable, profitable growth.
What You’ll Do
Business Development & Market Expansion
- Develop and execute regional growth strategies aligned with company objectives
- Identify and secure new business opportunities across mining
- Expand footprint through key-account development and new-client acquisition
- Build strong relationships with mining operators, EPCs and senior decision-makers
- Achieve annual revenue and profitability targets (AOP)
- Drive solution-based selling and develop compelling value propositions
- Negotiate contracts, pricing and commercial agreements
- Monitor market dynamics, competitor activity and pricing trends
- Work with technical teams to deliver tailored process solutions
- Support customers with audits, troubleshooting and performance optimisation
- Promote innovative technologies that improve efficiency and reduce operating costs
- Adhere to all company EHS policies and regulatory requirements
- Promote a strong safety culture across customer sites and internal operations
- Ensure compliance with environmental standards and sustainable mining practices
- Engage effectively with internal teams, customers and partners across multiple countries
- Deliver professional presentations and technical-commercial proposals
- Report regularly on sales performance, pipeline and market developments
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing or related field
- Advanced degree or MBA is an advantage
- 5–7+ years in mining, mineral processing or related industrial sectors
- Proven track record in business development or technical sales
- Strong understanding of mineral-processing operations (crushing, grinding, flotation, hydrometallurgy, water management, tailings)
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Ability to build strategic relationships with senior stakeholders
- Technical understanding of mining processes and chemical/reagent applications
- Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills
- Ability to work across diverse cultures (Kazakhstan & CIS experience highly desirable)
- English (required)
- Russian (strongly preferred)
- Kazakh or other regional languages are an advantage
