Business Analyst

About the Role & Team

The Business Analyst will be part of the Engineering team responsible for building and improving multiple software applications used by different internal and external stakeholders.

The role will support requirements analysis and delivery within assigned product areas, close work with the Senior BA, Product team, Software developers to translate business needs into clear, testable requirements and support delivery within a Scrum environment.

The BA will work under the guidance of the Senior/Lead BA, who provides mentorship, task direction, and review as part of a two-person BA function within the broader delivery team.

This environment requires the BA to:

• understand business processes and needs
• translate them into scalable product requirements
• support continuous software evolution

Responsibilities

Functional

• Support requirements elicitation and clarification with stakeholders
• Write user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation
• Collaborate with developers to clarify backend workflows and technical impacts
• Support QA with test scenarios and solution validation
• Maintain documentation and traceability in JIRA and Confluence

Team related

• Participate in Scrum ceremonies and backlog refinement activities
• Coordinate day-to-day with Senior BA, Developers and Product Owner
• Raise blockers, risks, and delivery concerns proactively
• Follow established BA standards, templates, and documentation practices
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of BA processes and standards over time

Required Experience & Skills

• 1–2 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar delivery-focused role
• Degree in Business Informatics, Business Economics, Finance or similar
• Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and structured requirements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English

Nice to Have or willing to learn

• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence (or equivalent tools)
• Experience with workflow/process documentation
• Awareness of non-functional requirements such as validation, permissions, and usability
• Basic understanding of REST APIs, JSON or system integrations
