Job Title: Business Analyst - Microsoft Power Apps

Location: Los Angeles, CA


Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst with 7–9 years of professional experience and proven end-to-end delivery exposure in Microsoft Power Apps / Power Platform projects. The resource should be capable of driving business analysis activities across the full project lifecycle, including requirement discovery, process analysis, solution mapping, user story creation, functional documentation, test case preparation, testing support, client demos, walkthroughs, adoption support, and post-implementation coordination.

The ideal candidate should understand Power Platform solution delivery across Canvas Apps, Model-driven Apps, Power Automate, dashboards, AI Builder, Copilot, and Copilot Studio-enabled scenarios, with the ability to bridge business needs and technical implementation effectively.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business analysis activities for Power Apps / Power Platform projects from discovery to deployment and hyper care.
  • Engage with business stakeholders, product owners, SMEs, architects, developers, testers, and client teams to capture, clarify, and validate business requirements.
  • Conduct requirement workshops, process walkthroughs, discovery sessions, gap analysis, impact analysis, and stakeholder interviews.
  • Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, data flow diagrams, and solution requirement documents.
  • Support solution design discussions for Canvas Apps, Model-driven Apps, Dataverse, SharePoint, Power Automate workflows, dashboards, AI Builder, Copilot, and Copilot Studio use cases.
  • Map business processes to Power Platform capabilities and identify where automation, AI, dashboards, approvals, notifications, and role-based experiences can add value.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure requirements are feasible, complete, testable, and aligned with platform capabilities and delivery timelines.
  • Maintain requirement traceability across user stories, design documents, build items, test cases, defects, and client signoffs.
  • Prepare and manage backlog items, sprint inputs, business clarifications, change requests, and requirement prioritization in Agile delivery environments.
  • Identify risks, assumptions, dependencies, constraints, and open items related to business requirements and solution delivery.


Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Consultant, or Product Analyst in enterprise application delivery.
  • Hands-on business analysis experience in delivered Power Apps / Power Platform projects.
  • Strong understanding of Canvas Apps, Model-driven Apps, Dataverse, Power Automate, dashboards, AI Builder, Copilot, and Copilot Studio concepts from a functional delivery perspective.
  • Ability to write clear business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, test cases, process flows, and user guides.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery, backlog grooming, sprint planning support, daily clarifications, sprint reviews, and retrospective inputs.
  • Good understanding of data sources and integrations such as Dataverse, SharePoint, Excel, SQL, APIs, Microsoft 365, Teams, Outlook, and Dynamics 365.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage requirement changes, scope clarifications, client expectations, delivery dependencies, and sign-off processes.
  • Experience working closely with developers, architects, testers, project managers, and client stakeholders in distributed delivery environments.


Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to Power BI dashboards, reporting requirements, KPI definition, and data visualization best practices.
  • Understanding of Power Platform governance, environment strategy, security roles, solution deployment, ALM, and release management basics.
  • Experience with AI-enabled requirements, Copilot use cases, prompt-driven experiences, chatbot requirements, and intelligent automation scenarios.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, Figma, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Microsoft Power Platform certifications such as PL-900, PL-200, or equivalent practical knowledge would be an added advantage.
