The Business Analyst - API supports the full API lifecycle, including requirements definition, API contract development, documentation, and collaboration with engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and well-documented APIs. Knowledge of FHIR-based APIs and healthcare interoperability standards is required.

📍This is a Remote Position. Candidates can be located in any state EXCEPT NY, NJ, IL, and CA.
What You'll Do
- Works with business, clinical, and technical stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document API requirements.
- Translates business and customer needs into clear, actionable functional and non-functional requirements.
- Facilitates discussions to determine whether new APIs are required or existing APIs should be enhanced.
- Collaborates with architects and engineers to define API contracts, including request/response structures, data models, and error handling.
- Supports API design reviews to ensure consistency with enterprise standards, security requirements, and interoperability goals.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of RESTful APIs, API versioning, and lifecycle management.
- Publishes API documentation using tools and standards such as Swagger / OpenAPI specifications.
- Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Information Technology, Business, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Will accept minimum of eight years relevant experience in lieu of bachelors degree.
- Experience: 3 years required in healthcare IT, system integration, or API-focused business analysis.
- Additional Skills (required):
- Working knowledge of API concepts, including REST, API contracts, and documentation standards.
- Demonstrated experience gathering and documenting requirements for system integrations or APIs.
- Additional Skills (preferred):
- Experience supporting API initiatives in a healthcare environment.
- Familiarity with Swagger / OpenAPI documentation tools.
- Experience working with integration platforms or enterprise integration teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
