Role Overview

This is the first-ever Business Analyst hire at PrivaSapien. The BA will act as a technical assistant and administrative support to the Delivery Manager — capturing client requirements, creating Jira tickets and FRDs, preparing UAT documentation, managing project timelines, and stepping in for project management when the DM is unavailable. The BA works alongside the Delivery Manager and Integration Engineers, with cross-role overlap, and is expected to help build and expand the BA function over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct discovery workshops with clients to define business use cases
• Translate use cases into detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria (Jira, Confluence, Miro)
• Understand client tech stack, data sources, and microservices architecture
• Plan integration of PrivaSapien modules for seamless deployment (Lucidchart, Visio, Draw.io)
• Interpret and analyse API documentation; support endpoint alignment and authentication flow design (Postman, Swagger, Kong)
• Create and manage implementation timelines using Gantt charts; track milestones and dependencies (MS Project, ClickUp, Smartsheet)
• Analyse current workflows and data movement patterns; identify areas for automation and privacy enforcement
• Prepare FRDs (Functional Requirement Documents) and send back engineering requirements
• Coordinate UAT activities with QA and client teams; prepare UAT documentation
• Lead sprint reviews and retrospectives involving all stakeholders (Jira, TestRail, Google Slides)
• Manage the client-specific backlog — clarity, prioritisation, and traceability of epics and features
• Create and deliver executive-level updates on business goals, project status, risks, and key metrics
• Act as the bridge between client stakeholders, product and engineering teams, and customer success
• Step in for project management responsibilities when the Delivery Manager is unavailable

• 5–8 years of total experience with a mix of BA and development work — target split: ~80% BA + 20% development
• Development background — backend preferred; web or mobile acceptable — hands-on coding/engineering experience required
• Strong API concepts understanding — ability to read API documentation and capture integration requirements
• Jira and Confluence — hands-on, daily use (not just awareness)
• Agile/Scrum methodology — sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, retrospectives
• FRD writing — must have written structured requirement documents independently
• Client-facing stakeholder management — experience running requirement-gathering sessions with external clients
• CS/IT educational background — engineering or computer science degree

• Functional understanding of DPDP Act or exposure to privacy/compliance/RegTech domain (GDPR, data governance, consent management)
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
• Experience in SaaS or B2B enterprise software delivery
• Exposure to tools: Postman, Swagger, Lucidchart, Miro, Notion
• Prior experience in a startup or small team (sub-50 people)
• Project management exposure — Gantt charts, MS Project, ClickUp, Smartsheet
• UAT coordination experience with QA and client teams
