Technical Business Analyst – API Integration

We're currently seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to join a high-profile enterprise integration program. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside architects, developers, product owners and business stakeholders to deliver modern API-led integration solutions.

The Opportunity:
As the Senior Technical Business Analyst, you'll act as the critical link between business stakeholders and engineering teams, driving requirements, defining integration solutions and ensuring successful delivery across multiple API and digital initiatives.
You'll play a key role in shaping product backlogs, facilitating workshops, documenting technical requirements and supporting the delivery of enterprise integration services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead business and technical discovery workshops with business and technology stakeholders.
- Elicit, analyse and document functional and non-functional requirements.
- Translate business requirements into user stories, epics and acceptance criteria.
- Define API integration requirements and support API contract design.
- Collaborate closely with Solution Architects, Developers, Product Owners and QA teams.
- Manage backlog refinement and sprint planning activities.
- Produce process maps, data models, data mapping and technical documentation.
- Support solution validation, testing, implementation and production readiness.
- Balance business priorities, delivery timelines and technical constraints to achieve successful project outcomes.
What You'll Bring:
- 6+ years' experience as a Technical Business Analyst or Senior Business Analyst delivering enterprise technology projects.
- Strong experience working on API and system integration programs.
- Exposure to MuleSoft Anypoint Platform or similar enterprise integration technologies.
- Ability to interpret third-party API documentation and define integration requirements.
- Experience with: API contract design, JSON, Postman, Swagger / OpenAPI
- Data modelling and data mapping
- Previous software development experience in Java is highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and product backlog management.
- Experience working across web, mobile and enterprise application projects.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation and communication skills.
Highly Desirable:
- Working knowledge of Spring Boot, Java-based microservices and REST API development to effectively collaborate with engineering teams and define integration requirements.
- Enterprise API strategy and integration architecture exposure.
- Financial Services, Government or large enterprise delivery experience.
- Experience working alongside distributed Agile delivery teams.
