A little bit about you
You are an experienced Business Analyst with a strong understanding of finance systems and accounting principles. You have proven experience leading feasibility assessments, gathering business requirements, developing business cases and documenting business processes.
You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Information Systems, Finance or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CBAP, PMI-PBA) or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience as a Business Analyst, preferably supporting finance systems, ERP or Financial Management System implementations.
- Demonstrated experience leading early-stage project scoping, feasibility assessments and options analysis.
- Experience developing business cases, including cost-benefit analysis and executive-level recommendations.
- Strong understanding of core accounting processes, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR) and financial reporting.
- Experience engaging with stakeholders, vendors and supporting procurement activities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and written communication skills.
- Experience using tools such as Visio, Miro, Jira, Confluence or equivalent.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to undertake the feasibility assessment of a new Financial Management System (FMS) for St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria and its subsidiaries.
Reporting into the project team, you will be responsible for documenting current-state business processes, gathering and documenting Level 1 business requirements, and completing a feasibility assessment of potential Financial Management System solutions. You will work closely with finance, IT and operational stakeholders to understand business needs, assess solution options, and develop business cases to support informed decision-making.
This role requires someone with a sound understanding of accounting and finance principles, combined with demonstrated experience working as a Systems Business Analyst. You will have experience gathering system requirements, completing options assessments and developing business cases to support organisational projects.
