This role is responsible for owning and driving larger, more complex business analysis initiatives that deliver technology solutions aligned to strategic business needs. The IT Business Systems Analyst III operates with a high degree of independence, leading stakeholder engagement, driving alignment, and influencing solution decisions across enterprise systems. This role is expected to shape solutions rather than simply document requirements, and to serve as a mentor and technical resource to other analysts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead engagement with business stakeholders to understand strategic needs, identify pain points, and drive alignment on priorities and outcomes.
  • Facilitate and drive stakeholder discussions, workshops, and working sessions to elicit, clarify, and confirm complex requirements.
  • Serve as a trusted liaison between business and IT leadership, influencing decisions and building consensus across functions.
  • Analyze complex business processes and system capabilities to evaluate options, recommend approaches, and shape solution direction.
  • Own the quality, completeness, and traceability of requirements, including functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead process mapping and gap analysis to align current and future state processes across interdependent systems.
  • Evaluate solution options against business needs, system capabilities, and constraints, and recommend the preferred approach.
  • Lead or coordinate requirements validation, testing activities, and solution readiness to ensure solutions meet business needs.
  • Design and oversee test scenarios and user acceptance testing (UAT), guiding others through execution and issue resolution.
  • Partner with technical teams to resolve complex requirements questions and ensure successful delivery of solutions.
  • Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release activities for assigned initiatives.
  • Lead small to moderate initiatives or workstreams from intake through delivery, coordinating resources and dependencies.
  • Contribute to and help shape business analysis standards, templates, and best practices.
  • Influence intake and prioritization decisions for incoming work based on business value and impact.
  • Proactively identify, communicate, and help mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies across initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance systems, processes, and delivery outcomes.
  • Provide formal mentoring and guidance to less experienced analysts, supporting their development and quality of work.
  • Champion knowledge sharing and raise the analytical capability of the broader team.
  • Contributes to a positive team dynamic through respectful interactions, positive contributions, and active collaboration to achieve department and organizational goals.
  • Incorporates AAA’s vision, mission and values in day-to-day activities and behaviors; guides and motivates others to remain committed to AAA’s vision mission and values.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5–7+ years of experience in business systems analysis, business analysis, or a related role supporting technology delivery.
  • Salesforce experience required, Salesforce Field Service experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience leading requirements efforts and shaping solutions on complex or cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience working with enterprise business applications (e.g., ERP, CRM, or similar systems).
  • Experience gathering, documenting, validating, and owning the traceability of business requirements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Formal training in business analysis, business process improvement, or related discipline.
  • Experience with enterprise business systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, or similar platforms).
  • Experience leading work in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.
  • Experience driving cross-functional or enterprise initiatives.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Advanced Business Analysis certification a plus (e.g., CBAP).
  • Agile or delivery-related certifications a plus (e.g., Scrum, SAFe).
  • Experience with and/or certification in enterprise platforms relevant to the assigned area preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Advanced knowledge of business analysis practices, including requirements elicitation, documentation, validation, and traceability.
  • Ability to analyze complex business needs and translate them into structured, high-quality requirements and solution recommendations.
  • Deep understanding of business process concepts, system interactions, and enterprise system capabilities.
  • Ability to lead stakeholder engagement, drive alignment, and influence decisions across functions.
  • Ability to evaluate solution options and recommend approaches that balance business value, feasibility, and risk.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills across technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership.
  • Ability to work independently, drive outcomes, and manage multiple complex priorities with minimal guidance.
  • Ability to mentor and develop other analysts and elevate team capability.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing, including effective use of listening skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Skilled in establishing rapport and gaining the trust of others.

SALARY:

  • Hiring Range: $98,634 - $113,424
  • Discretionary bonus based on company performance

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • The physical environment is typical of a standard office space. It requires the employee to work inside for the duration of work. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, sitting for more than 50% of the time. This position will require occasionally moving about inside the office to access equipment, cabinets, etc. May work around office equipment which could be noisy, such as copiers and fax machines.
