Business Analyst (m/f/d)

In this role, you will take ownership of the messaging domain within Kuehne+Nagel’s IT ecosystem, driving its development and continuously improving its capabilities. You will connect over 200 cloud-based applications and orchestrate their seamless integration through Apache Kafka, ensuring a scalable and reliable event-driven architecture. Working closely with the Product Lead, you will shape the strategy, roadmap, and core features of the Message + Event Platform while steering its evolution in line with business and technical requirements. You will translate customer ideas into actionable epics and user stories and iteratively build a robust central messaging platform that meets both functional and non-functional demands. Additionally, you will act as a servant leader for the development team, providing direction, enabling collaboration, and supporting effective technical decision-making.

How you create impact

• Define, align and drill down the roadmap together with a highly talented and experienced development team based on customer needs
• Be in contact with our customers and connect the needs with the roadmap of the Message + Event Platform
• Translate the vision into manageable roadmap items to be implemented with the team
• Specify user stories and epics based on the needs of our customers
• Define and derive (non-functional) requirements based on the needs of our clients
• Evaluate and refine the upcoming tasks within the team.

• Degree in an information technology area or proven experience
• 3+ years of experience as a product owner, business analyst, or similar role in an agile software development environment
• You are an expert in requirements engineering in agile projects
• You are passionate to maintain a backlog to support the team to focus on the valuable items for customers
• You are aware what it means to create and operate a centralized platform used by numerous business critical systems
• You like to understand customer needs on a technical level and can transform those into implementable requirements for the platform
• Ideally you are familiar with one major messaging technology (Apache Kafka welcome)
• Ideally you are familiar with one of the major cloud providers (AWS welcome)
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
