Job summary

The product department is responsible for the management of the development of medical software products sold directly to end users under Mirada’s brand, integrated in other vendors’ solutions or custom built as contracted. The department coordinates the work of the product department and collaborates with the Quality and Regulatory department to ensure that products are manufactured to the required standards for the countries where they are sold, and with the Science and Product Management departments to ensure all Mirada products contain the required functionality and satisfies the users’ needs.

The Analyst is responsible for ensuring that Mirada products meet customer needs. This role is involved throughout all stages of the development lifecycle, including working with customers and product management to define their requirements, communicating these to the Software Development team and performing analysis to ensure that the designed solution meets the specified requirements at various levels of specification.


Main duties and responsibilities

Functional

Product Planning:

  • Working with Product Management to define the content of products and versions via the production of business requirements.
  • Maintaining a list of prioritised feature requests for subsequent assignment to product versions following Product Management lead.
  • Gathering feature/requirement requests from any sources available, including but not limited to customers.

Product specification:

  • Specifying customer requirements using appropriate requirement notation in product/user requirements specifications.
  • Clarifying requirements concepts with customers/end users during the specification process to ensure that the understanding of their needs is correct at the earliest opportunity within the development process.
  • Co-ordinating with test team to define acceptance criteria
  • Validation and management of requirements throughout the full development lifecycle.
  • Coordinating with the development team to specify software requirements and product design that meet the customer/product requirements.
  • Managing Requirements Change Requests.
  • Reviewing any architectural/UI design/low level requirements specifications to ensure they adequately meet the intent of the higher-level requirements specifications.
  • Conduct ongoing risk analysis of the product and maintaining the risk files


Product verification/Validation:

  • Maintaining full requirements traceability.
  • Reviewing test specifications/plans/reports created by development, as required.
  • Prioritisation of defects within products relating to customer/end user needs.
  • Ensuring that products have been adequately tested prior to release to customers/end users.
  • Contributing to/reviewing user documentation.
  • Working with customers/end users to allow them to use delivered products effectively.
  • Creating and executing validation & verification tests and creating reports as required.


Process

  • Providing and tracking estimates for all work performed.
  • Assisting CS to resolve support requests as necessary.


Skills and Experience

Essential

  • GCSE Maths and English A-C or international equivalent
  • Appropriate degree, diploma (Science, Computing, Technology
  • Understanding of the practicalities of software development
  • Knowledge of requirements engineering
  • Experience of working within cross functional project teams on software projects
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycles/methodologies (e.g. Agile/Waterfall)
  • Experience of working with change management/issue tracking systems (e.g. Jira)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills, with ability to work to deadlines
  • Requirements elicitation, analysis, validation, documentation and management
  • Functional/UI design and evaluation
  • Use of Microsoft Office

Desirable

  • Formal business analyst qualifications such as the BCS business analysis professional certifications, the BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis, or equivalent (IIBA CBAP)
  • Familiarity of working within a regulated environment
  • Medical Imaging domain knowledge
  • Knowledge of risk analysis techniques, such as FMEA
  • Software Testing Planning, specification, execution and reporting.
