Title: IT Security Business Analyst
Location: Kansas City, MO
Location: Hybrid - 3 days a week onsite in Overland Park
Duration:12-month contract with potential extensions
Pay Rate: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
Must-haves:
- 5 years of experience working as a business analyst in full SDLC for software projects primarily in IT security.
- Broad security knowledge, projects will be related to Identity and access management (IAM), data loss prevention, data security, etc.
- Demonstrated knowledge in creating mock-up reports.
- Expert facilitation skills to lead groups through structured. information/requirements gathering and ability to communicate across technical and non-technical business units.
- Experience creating swim lane process diagrams and structured, clear requirements documentation methods.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT related Field or relevant work experience in data analytics.
- Experience working in a multi-team, Information Technology organization and willingness to take earlier and later meetings due to a variety of time zones.
Day-to-day:
This Business Analyst will support IT security initiatives throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), partnering with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements. The role will focus on security-related projects including Identity and Access Management (IAM), data loss prevention, and broader data security efforts. Responsibilities include facilitating requirements gathering sessions with both technical and non-technical teams and translating business needs into clear and actionable documentation. The ideal candidate will have experience creating mock-up reports, process flows, and swim lane diagrams to support solution design and process improvement initiatives. Strong communication and facilitation skills are essential to drive collaboration across multiple teams and ensure project objectives are met. Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or equivalent experience, along with the ability to thrive in a large, multi-team technology environment. Flexibility to support stakeholders across various time zones, including occasional early morning or evening meetings, is also required. This is a 12-month contract role hybrid in Kansas City, Missouri.
