Core Ledger Specialist

You will join a small, close-knit team: today the Core Ledger team consists of a Head of Core Ledger IT, a Product Manager, and two Core Ledger Specialists (one of whom also carries delivery management responsibilities). This is a great opportunity to make a direct impact early on and help shape the team as it grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and document clear, detailed requirements for transaction processing, balance management, and posting logic, to be delivered by external suppliers
- Verify and regression test supplier deliveries to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across all ledger operations
- Collaborate with the Head of Core Ledger IT and suppliers on solution design and technical decisions
- Investigate and resolve complex ledger-related incidents and data discrepancies, working with suppliers when needed
- Maintain clear documentation, including requirements, data flows, test results, and runbooks
- Support internal configuration of the core ledger platform
- Provide hands-on internal support to other teams (finance, customer service, operations, and others) on day-to-day ledger questions and issues — this is a significant and ongoing part of the role
- Support integration of new products and financial instruments into the ledger framework, working with suppliers and Product Management
- Work closely with QA and the Delivery Manager to ensure supplier deliveries are well tested before approval
- 4+ years of experience working with financial or transactional systems, in a requirements, analysis, or configuration role
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping, financial transaction processing, or core banking systems
- Experience writing clear, detailed requirements and acceptance chriteria for systems delivered by external suppliers
- Familiarity with relational databases and ability to query and analyse data (SQL)
- Solid understanding of how to verify and test complex system deliveries
- Experience working in a regulated financial environment (banking, payments, BNPL)
- Knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements
- Experience working with externally delivered or outsourced systems
- Familiarity with testing frameworks and structured test methodologies
