The Candidate Will Have Responsibilities Across The Following Functions
Strategic Alignment and Requirements Gathering:
- Partner with product managers, wealth advisors, and business stakeholders to understand the strategic vision for our wealth management applications.
- Lead workshops and discovery sessions to elicit, document, and analyse complex business requirements related to portfolio management, transactions, advisory, and client reporting.
- Translate high-level business needs into detailed, development-ready artefacts, including user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and process flow diagrams.
- Apply deep domain knowledge of wealth management lifecycles, including client onboarding (KYC/AML), asset allocation, portfolio rebalancing, performance reporting, and fee billing.
- Advise technical teams on financial instruments (equities, fixed income, derivatives, mutual funds/ETFs) and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Stay abreast of fintech trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies (e. g., AI in advisory, open banking APIs) to recommend product enhancements.
- Manage and groom the product backlog, ensuring user stories are prioritised, clearly defined, and accurately estimated.
- Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers to ensure platform interfaces meet the specialised needs of financial advisors and end-investors.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the engineering and QA teams during development sprints, clarifying requirements and removing blockers.
- Design and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans, ensuring the delivered software meets business needs and strict financial accuracy standards.
- Develop user manuals, release notes, and training materials for internal teams and end-users.
- Mentor junior business analysts and promote best practices in requirements engineering and agile delivery.
- Experience: 5-8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or similar role within the financial services or fintech industry.
- Domain Knowledge: Proven experience working on Wealth Management, Asset Management, or Investment Advisory software applications.
- Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of API integrations, data flows, and modern software architecture. Ability to read and write basic SQL queries for data analysis.
- Methodology: Extensive experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment with proficiency in tools like Jira, Confluence, or Rally.
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional ability to map complex financial workflows and identify edge cases in trading and portfolio management scenarios.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as CBAP, CSPO, or financial certifications like CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or NISM certifications.
- Platform Experience: Familiarity with industry-standard wealth tech platforms or market data providers (e. g., Bloomberg, Morningstar).
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of data privacy and financial regulations (e. g., SEBI guidelines, GDPR, KYC/AML norms).
