Financial Analyst

Summary

Our client is seeking a highly analytical Business & Financial Analyst who thrives on working with data. You will work closely with Finance, Sales, Operations, and Executive Leadership to analyze financial and operational data, build dynamic reporting tools, and identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.

This position requires an expert-level Excel user who can build sophisticated financial models, automate reporting, and manipulate large datasets with speed and accuracy. Experience with NetSuite ERP is a strong plus.

Our client is a growing, mid-sized manufacturer focused on light manufacturing, product assemblies, and B2B sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze large financial and operational datasets to identify trends, risks, and business opportunities
• Develop, maintain, and improve complex Excel models used for forecasting, budgeting, pricing, profitability, and executive reporting
• Create dynamic dashboards, Pivot Tables, and automated reports that provide actionable insights
• Build tools that improve data accuracy, reporting efficiency, and decision-making across the organization
• Analyze sales performance, customer profitability, product margins, inventory, manufacturing costs, and operating expenses
• Perform variance analysis between actual results, forecasts, and budgets
• Partner with Sales and Operations to evaluate pricing strategies, customer trends, and product performance
• Support inventory analysis, cost tracking, and manufacturing performance metrics
• Consolidate and reconcile data from multiple sources into clear, accurate reports
• Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting processes and improve data quality
• Assist with month-end reporting, forecasting, and annual budgeting
• Prepare ad hoc analyses and presentations for executive leadership

Technical Skills

Advanced Microsoft Excel (Required)

You should be considered the "Excel expert" on the team and be comfortable working with large, complex datasets.

Required experience includes:

• Advanced formulas including XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, IF/IFS, LET, FILTER, UNIQUE, and nested functions
• Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts
• Power Query for importing, cleaning, and transforming data
• Financial modeling and scenario analysis
• Data validation and error checking
• Dashboard development using charts, slicers, and interactive reporting
• Working with datasets containing tens of thousands of rows
• Automating recurring reports and improving reporting workflows

Preferred Skills

• NetSuite ERP experience
• Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools
• Basic SQL knowledge is a plus
• Experience working with ERP-generated data exports
