Accounting Manager – US Accounting Operations

Experience and Skills

• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including recent hands-on experience at the Accounting Manager, Controller, or equivalent level.
• Strong experience working with US accounting operations and US-based companies.
• Advanced hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online.
• Hands-on ADP experience, including payroll accounting, payroll reconciliations, payroll-related journal entries, and payroll tax matters.
• Executive-level communication skills with the ability to explain complex accounting matters clearly, directly, and concisely to senior leadership.
• Experience working within a US software or technology company and familiarity with software-specific accounting considerations, including capitalization and amortization of internally developed software costs.
• C2 English proficiency.

Projects

This is a highly hands-on accounting leadership role with full ownership of day-to-day US accounting operations, month-end close, payroll accounting, compliance, and financial reporting. Working with a high degree of autonomy, you will own the accounting function end to end while partnering directly with the CEO/CFO and coordinating with external tax and audit firms. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with the ability to operate independently, improve processes, maintain audit-ready documentation, and communicate complex financial matters clearly and concisely to senior leadership. This role is particularly well suited for an experienced Accounting Manager or Controller who has remained close to the books and has experience supporting the accounting needs of a growing US software company.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and execute the complete end-to-end month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger review, and monthly financial statements.
• Maintain accurate and timely accounting records in QuickBooks Online and ensure the integrity of the general ledger and supporting schedules.
• Own payroll accounting and reconciliations using ADP, including payroll-related journal entries and multi-state payroll requirements.
• Coordinate company-level US corporate tax compliance with external CPA and tax firms, preparing schedules, supporting documentation, and responding to information requests.
