Your Tasks
- Analyze, elicit and document, business and functional requirements for our banking clients, particularly in the context of transformation programs, regulatory initiatives and system migrations
- Act as the bridge between business and IT, translating business needs into clear, structured and implementable requirements
- Model and optimize banking processes, identifying improvement opportunities and supporting the design of future-state business processes
- Create and maintain requirements specifications, user stories, process documentation and functional concepts, ensuring end-to-end traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate requirements across multiple stakeholders, facilitate workshops and drive alignment between business units, project teams and technology partners
- Support implementation and change initiatives from requirements definition through business acceptance, making sure delivered solutions meet business objectives
- Safeguard quality by defining and validating business test scenarios and supporting functional, integration, end-to-end (E2E) and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Leverage AI-assisted tools (e.g., Microsoft 365 Copilot, GenAI-based documentation and analysis assistants) in day-to-day work to accelerate requirements engineering, improve documentation quality and enhance decision-making - always with a critical, quality-first mindset
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our requirements engineering methods, business analysis standards and banking process frameworks, while sharing knowledge with colleagues and clients
- Collaborate closely with business and IT colleagues to develop innovative solutions for complex banking challenges, building on existing platforms and technologies where appropriate
- Build trusted relationships with clients, management and project teams to ensure successful delivery and sustainable project outcomes
Your Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Business Informatics, Economics or a related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in requirements engineering and business analysis, ideally in large-scale transformation, implementation or migration projects within financial services
- Solid understanding of banking products, financial services processes and regulatory requirements, with experience in core banking domains such as lending, customer and account management, payments and/or related banking processes
- Strong expertise in requirements engineering methodologies, business process analysis and requirements lifecycle management
- Experience eliciting, documenting and managing business and functional requirements using industry-standard tools and delivery approaches (Agile, Waterfall or hybrid)
- Proven ability to analyze and optimize banking processes and translate business needs into implementable functional specifications
- Experience supporting implementation projects, including defining and validating business test scenarios and supporting functional, integration, E2E and UAT testing
- Familiarity with common project management frameworks and delivery approaches
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder communication across business and IT
- Interest and first hands-on experience with AI-assisted business analysis and requirements engineering - for example, using GenAI tools to draft user stories, structure documentation, analyze processes or accelerate research - combined with a clear understanding of when a human expert needs to stay in the lead
- A certification in Requirements Engineering (e.g., IREB CPRE) is a plus
- A customer-oriented, proactive, structured and solution-driven mindset
- Fluent business German (C1 or higher) and a good command of English are mandatory for this role
- Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites within the DACH region
