SAP Business Process & Data Functional Analyst

Role Summary

We are looking for a mid-level SAP Business Process & Data Functional Analyst with strong SAP process knowledge and data awareness. The role bridges business process experts and technical data teams by translating business requirements into functional SAP data extraction specifications for external data platforms.

The ideal candidate understands end-to-end SAP processes, reporting needs, and how business processes map to SAP data structures.

Required Experience

SAP Functional Expertise

• Hands-on experience in one of the following SAP functional domains:
• Order-to-Cash (SD) or,
• Procure-to-Pay (MM) or,
• Planning (SAP IBP or SAP ePP/DS)
• Good understanding of end-to-end business processes, key SAP objects, and data structures
• Experience in process analysis, configuration, testing or application support

Analytics & Delivery

• Experience defining reporting requirements and KPIs
• Exposure to SAP reporting or data extraction logic
• Participation in SAP implementation or enhancement projects
• Experience across the requirements, build, test and deployment lifecycle

Key Responsibilities

Business Process to Data Translation

• Gather and clarify reporting and data requirements with business and IT stakeholders
• Translate business process requirements into functional data specifications
• Identify relevant SAP tables, CDS views, fields, joins, filters, and extraction logic
• Ensure data definitions accurately reflect business process status, lifecycle, and completeness
• Validate specifications with SAP process owners and technical teams

Data Quality & Support

• Investigate data inconsistencies and gaps
• Perform root cause analysis across business processes, SAP configuration, and extraction logic
• Support issue resolution with cross-functional teams

Functional SAP Support

• Contribute to process analysis and functional solution design
• Support requirements definition, fit-gap analysis, testing, and deployment
• Define business test scenarios and support go-live activities

Required Skills

• Strong functional knowledge in one of the requested SAP functional domains
• Good understanding of SAP business process lifecycle, statuses, and integration points
• Ability to translate business processes into SAP data requirements
• Understanding of SAP tables, relationships, and functional data models
• Strong requirements analysis and documentation skills
• Excellent stakeholder communication and facilitation skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of cloud data platforms, data lakes, or analytics architectures
• Exposure to SAP CDS Views and data extraction technologies
• Understanding of APIs and integration concepts

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Fluency in English; additional language skills and prior experience with international teams are beneficial.
