Mark Anderson Companies is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Data Analyst to join our team. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, reports, spreadsheets, and business systems.
In this role, you will support the Senior Business Data Analyst by assisting with reporting, dashboard updates, data accuracy, and business process improvement projects. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, eager to learn, and comfortable working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions
- Assist with gathering and reviewing business data and reporting needs.
- Support the creation, maintenance, and updating of reports, spreadsheets, dashboards, and KPI tracking.
- Review data for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Perform basic data analysis to help identify trends, errors, or areas for improvement.
- Support reporting requests from departments across the organization.
- Assist with ERP-related reporting, data cleanup, and system projects.
- Work with cross-functional teams to help ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Prepare summaries, reports, and basic analysis for internal teams and management.
- Communicate findings and updates in a clear and professional manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong computer skills, including Excel, spreadsheets, email, and related software.
- Basic understanding of data analysis, reporting, and business processes.
- Ability to organize, review, and interpret data.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn ERP systems, reporting tools, dashboards, and data visualization methods.
- Working knowledge of SQL, Power BI, or similar business intelligence tools preferred but not required.
- Interest in manufacturing, animal health, business operations, or process improvement preferred.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
- Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Prior internship, coursework, or work experience in data analysis, reporting, business analysis, or administrative data support is helpful.
- Experience with MS Office products, especially Excel required
- Experience with ERP systems or data visualization tools is preferred but not required.
- Manufacturing industry experience is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to occasionally bend, twist, and reach for files, supplies, or materials.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 5 pounds as needed.
- Ability to occasionally push and/or pull light office materials.
