Mission Context
For one of our clients, a leading player in the energy sector, we are looking for a Business Analyst specialized in electricity markets to support the evolution and optimization of interactions with Transmission System Operators (TSOs).
In a context of energy transition, market transformation, and continuous regulatory evolution, our client plays a key role in optimizing short-term electricity market operations.
Within a strategic and high-impact environment, you will contribute to topics related to market access, balancing mechanisms, and the integration of solutions designed to secure and improve operations representing several billion euros in annual business activity.
As a Business Analyst, you will act as a key interface between business teams, market operators, IT teams, and architects, translating operational needs into efficient and scalable solutions.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Electricity Market Expertise
- Develop a strong understanding of European electricity markets, TSO mechanisms, and their impact on short-term power activities.
- Monitor regulatory, technical, and operational developments affecting electricity market operations.
- Act as a key point of contact for business stakeholders on topics including:
- TSO access,
- balancing mechanisms,
- redispatching processes,
- operational constraints within electricity markets.
Business Requirements & Functional Design
- Gather and analyze business requirements from portfolio managers, market operators, and operational teams.
- Define and document business processes, operational workflows, and interactions with TSOs.
- Design functional solutions in collaboration with architecture and information systems teams.
- Translate business needs into clear and structured functional specifications.
Project Support & Implementation
- Act as the functional reference throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring solutions remain aligned with business objectives.
- Work closely with development teams to ensure proper implementation of functional requirements.
- Participate in functional testing phases and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Identify, analyze, and resolve issues during implementation and deployment phases.
- Support change management activities and ensure smooth adoption of new tools and processes.
🔹 Required Profile
We are looking for a Business Analyst with solid experience in the energy sector, ideally with a strong understanding of electricity markets.
You have the following skills and expertise:
Electricity Market Expertise
- Strong knowledge of European electricity markets, TSO operations, and balancing mechanisms.
Analytical & Business Understanding Skills
- Ability to analyze complex business processes and propose relevant solutions aligned with operational challenges.
Functional Analysis Skills
- Experience in requirements gathering, functional specification writing, process mapping, and business workflow design.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Ability to work with various stakeholders: business teams, traders, IT teams, architects, and external partners.
Adaptability & Innovation Mindset
- Ability to operate in a constantly evolving environment driven by regulatory, technological, and market changes.
