The Personal Customers business unit in Danske Bank is undergoing a major transformation, heavily reliant on a sustainable, scalable, and secure data foundation. This foundation is a key enabler for reaching the bank’s Forward’28 strategic objectives, ensuring better banking experiences and stronger products for our customers.
You will join the Customer Engagement Individuals (CEI) Tribe, where the customer is at the centre of everything we do. The tribe owns key customer-facing systems across Danske Bank’s channels and capabilities. We are a diverse group of approximately 160 colleagues spanning roles such as Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Business & Functional Specialists, Architects and more, working across the Nordics, Lithuania, and India.
Please note that this is a fixed-term contract for maternity cover (expected duration: around 12 months).
About the Role:
Danske Bank is seeking a substitute for a year for a skilled Business & Functional Specialist on maternity leave, to join one of our Data Foundation squads within the Customer Engagement Individuals Tribe. In this role, you will play a central part in enabling high-quality, trusted data across the Personal Customers domain, forming the backbone for next-generation banking services.
You will work at the intersection of business, data, and technology, translating complex business needs into clear and sustainable data specifications. By doing so, you will help commercial teams unlock value from data and ensure system owners can rely on consistent, compliant, and high-quality data for downstream use cases.
You will:
- Work closely with business stakeholders, system owners, and data owners to ensure prioritised activities that support better customer experiences
- Translate business logic and functional requirements into clear data specifications that support sustainable golden-source data models
- Collaborate across the bank with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to help drive the bank-wide data agenda in line with the Forward’28 strategy
- Enable downstream stakeholders to realise business value by ensuring timely and reliable data availability together with the team
- Ensure thorough, coherent documentation and adherence to governance and compliance standards within the subject area
- Actively participate in the transformation of Danske Bank’s retail customer area to support the goals set out in Forward’28
- Continuously learn and grow in the role, striving to deliver the best possible experience for customers
- Help ensure alignment with regulatory, governance, and security frameworks, enabling end-to-end compliant, accessible, and secure data
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher within Business, Engineering, Natural/Life Sciences, Engineering or similar
- Experience as a Business Analyst, Business & Functional Specialist, or in a similar role
- Experience with security, compliance, risk, and financial services data is considered a plus
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with fluency in spoken and written English
- A collaborative mindset with strong facilitation skills
- Analytical, adaptable, and comfortable working in uncertain and changing environments
- For more senior profiles, strong organisational understanding and strategic thinking are key
