Adactin Group is a 100% Australian-owned global IT consulting company, headquartered in Sydney. We are a trusted technology partner helping organizations drive end-to-end digital transformation through our deep expertise in Microsoft and AWS ecosystems, AI-powered Digital Engineering, and future-ready Quality Assurance.

Our managed delivery approach, backed by domain expertise, ensures successful outcomes for every project. At Adactin, we believe in the power of our people. We foster a dynamic and supportive environment where your career can grow alongside exciting projects that shape the future of technology. Join us, and be part of a team committed to innovation, excellence, and making a difference. The defining demand of this role is the ability to hold many complex, interdependent technical concepts at once, including interface contracts, data structures, integration behaviour, application layers, and business rules, and express them succinctly to both technical and non-technical audiences. You will be the point where ambiguity is resolved into clarity across a large and interconnected delivery. It is a specification and quality role, not an architecture role; your value is precision, traceability, and an eye for how the system actually behaves for the people using it.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you turn documented business processes into buildable, testable specification. Working from the process documentation captured by Subject-Matter Experts, Product Managers, and Technical Leads, you decompose each module into clear stories and unambiguous acceptance criteria and hold the line on quality from mockup through to UAT.

You will work closely with the Application Architect / Technical Lead to sequence the existing legacy modules into new build requirements, and to streamline the modernisation of the underlying data loads, translating architectural direction into clear, ordered, deliverable specification.

You will have delivered at this scale before, on a program of many integrations and modules rather than a single self-contained application.

Responsibilities

  • Take business processes documented by Subject-Matter Experts, Product Managers, and Technical Leads, and translate them into clear user stories with well-formed, testable acceptance criteria.
  • Analyse and specify the requirements for 40+ internal and external interfaces, defining acceptance criteria, dependencies, validation, and expected behaviour for each.
  • Ensure the overarching business process is preserved and correctly managed as data is migrated through the ETL processes, working with the Application Architect / Technical Lead and data engineers on migration sequencing, dependencies, and validation.
  • Partner with the Application Architect / Technical Lead to sequence the existing legacy modules into new build requirements, converting architectural direction and dependency order into clear, prioritised stories.
  • Hold and communicate multiple interdependent technical concepts simultaneously, spanning interfaces, data, APIs, application layers, and business rules, and articulate them succinctly to whichever audience is in the room.
  • Author end-to-end workflow and functional documentation that defines process flow, validation, edge cases, and expected behaviour for the development team.
  • Manage the delivery board with Scrum Master level discipline: refining the backlog, sequencing work across modules, supporting the QA Lead in maintaining traceability from requirement to test case, and keeping stories ready and unblocked.
  • Run the iterative module build loop end to end: workshop the legacy storyboard into UI mockups with the Technical Leads and SMEs, drive internal showcases with the QA Leads, coordinate revisions, and steer modules through User Acceptance Testing and into the release process.
  • Maintain a detailed eye for UI and user experience, ensuring business process and operational reality are faithfully captured in the technical specification.
  • Surface gaps and ambiguities in the requirements so the development team can build with confidence.

Skills and Competencies

  • A proven ability to manage multiple complex technical concepts at once and communicate them succinctly, translating fluently between business stakeholders and engineering teams without losing precision on either side.
  • Strong working knowledge of databases and tables, comfortable reading schemas and understanding SQL.
  • A conceptual understanding of how Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes work, enough to specify requirements and confirm the result without performing the migration.
  • Sound working knowledge of APIs and system interfaces (RESTful services, request/response payloads) sufficient to specify and validate integration and interface behaviour without designing it.
  • Sound grasp of three-tier application architecture (presentation, application/API, data), enough to specify accurately and converse credibly with engineers.
  • A detailed eye for UI and user experience, with the ability to capture business processes precisely within technical specifications.
  • Working knowledge of the software testing lifecycle (STLC), covering test cases, traceability, UAT, defect management, and regression, and how it integrates with the SDLC.
  • Disciplined documentation and the confidence to make complex, interconnected behaviour clear to any audience.
  • This role does not design application architecture; that sits with the engineering and architecture functions. The mandate is to specify what the system must do and how it must behave, capture it precisely, communicate it clearly across audiences, and assure it is delivered to that standard.

Experience

  • Demonstrated experience as a Technical Business Analyst on a software development project, owning stories and acceptance criteria through to delivery.
  • Experience across multi-module or multi-integration environments.
  • Experience on legacy modernisation, re-platforming, or data migration programs, modernising legacy or siloed processes into modern applications.
  • Experience specifying system-to-system interfaces and integrations across multiple platforms (desirable).
  • Familiarity with workflow-centric or case-management systems and process modelling using BPMN 2.0 (desirable).
  • Familiarity with modern web stacks such as Vue.js or React front-ends, Node.js or Java service layers, and relational databases (strongly desirable).
  • Proficiency with Agile delivery tooling such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Confluence for backlog management and traceability (desirable).
  • Relevant certification such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or ISTQB, and a tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline (desirable).
  • Prior delivery within a regulated or audit-sensitive environment will be well received.
