Technical Business Analyst – Cards & Payments

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst with a strong background in Cards and Payments to join a high-performing delivery team. This role requires a blend of business analysis, technical expertise, and stakeholder management skills to support complex payment initiatives and digital transformation programs.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, developers, and delivery teams to gather requirements, analyse data, define solutions, and support the successful delivery of strategic programs within the payments domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse, and document business, functional, and technical requirements.
• Work with stakeholders to define business processes, system integrations, and solution designs.
• Perform detailed data analysis using SQL and other analytical tools.
• Support integration initiatives involving APIs, Kafka, MQ, and TCP/IP-based interfaces.
• Translate business requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
• Facilitate workshops, requirement sessions, and stakeholder discussions.
• Collaborate with delivery teams throughout the Agile development lifecycle.
• Support testing, defect analysis, and production implementation activities.
• Analyse and document Cards and Payments processes, transaction flows, and related systems.
• Provide recommendations for process improvements and solution enhancements.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• Strong experience as a Technical Business Analyst within enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics (MS Dynamics).
• Advanced SQL skills and strong data analysis capabilities.
• Experience working with APIs, Kafka, MQ, and TCP/IP integrations.
• Deep understanding of Cards and Payments systems and processes.
• Strong knowledge of:
• AS2805
• ISO8583
• 3D Secure (3DS)
• Tokenisation
• Experience working within Agile delivery frameworks.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to bridge the gap between business and technical teams.

Nice to Have

• Fraud and Scam domain experience.
• Exposure to SAS Fraud Management solutions.
• Experience with ETL processes and data migration initiatives.
• Knowledge of PRM (Partner Relationship Management) platforms.
• Experience supporting large-scale migration and transformation programs.
