Duties And Responsibilities
- Independently manage and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring the team always works on the highest-impact work
- Author well-structured epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria; leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatPRD, Rovo) to produce and refine backlog artifacts efficiently and at scale
- Lead the planning of product release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities
- Confirm that executed stories comply with Neumo’s Definition of Done
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support, to ensure successful product releases
- Engage with customers and stakeholders to gather and validate requirements and feedback
- Work closely with senior leadership to inform product strategy and provide updates on product progress and milestones
- Analyze market trends and the competitive landscape to inform product decisions and strategy
- Ensure the product aligns with user needs, business goals, and technical capabilities
- Facilitate agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Monitor and report on product performance, quality, and usage metrics
- Perform other duties as assigned
- 2+ years’ experience working in Agile methodology with a deep understanding of the phases of the Software Development Life Cycle; preferably in a Product Owner or Business Analyst role
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Public sector or public sector software experience desired; tax administration, short-term rental, or revenue management solutions a plus
- Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, and Figma; experience with AI productivity tools (e.g., Claude, ChatPRD, Copilot) to accelerate story creation and analysis
- Understanding and experience with technical solutions and components (APIs, Middleware, Services, SQL)
- Ability to create epics, user stories, user journeys, wireframes, and basic diagrams to convey ideas
- Strong written communication skills and client presence; able to translate effectively between technical and business audiences
- Able to juggle multiple competing priorities
- Ability to persuade, encourage, and motivate others to beat deadlines
Physical Demands
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for most of the day
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a printer/copy machine
- This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office
- The person in this position frequently communicates via telephone and video conference
