About The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Business Analyst - Workday Financials to join our team. As a key member of our Finance-based business support department, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing and maintaining our Workday Financials system to support our financial operations and strategic objectives.
Specific Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Partner with Finance and Payroll stakeholders to document business needs and translate them into functional specifications for technical teams. Monitor system support (help desk) tickets, document new requests, triage and document issues and communicate with end users timely.
- Create test case scenarios and develop test suites to validate configuration changes to ensure quality is maintained and configuration changes meet the business requirements.
- Help facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), parallel testing, and regression testing for Workday releases.
- Assist in the creation of detailed functional specifications, user stories, and process flow diagrams to guide technical teams, without performing the technical configuration yourself.
- Conduct audits of Finance data to ensure integrity, troubleshooting discrepancies.
- Analyze current Finance processes, identify efficiencies, and recommend changes to workflows within Workday to improve user experience.
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) to troubleshoot issues, working with AP, Accounting/Finance and IT partners.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and job aids to support end-users.
- Reports to Manager Business Systems, Finance.
- High School degree minimum or some college experience and/or equivalent related experience.
- 3+ years in Finance Operations or Business Analysis with a heavy emphasis on business process analysis and stakeholder collaboration.
- Strong understanding of Accounting/Finance processes.
- Proficient in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) for data validation.
- Ability to translate complex policy and business requirements into clear, actionable business procedures.
- Proficiency in enterprise Financial systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, SAP) and process mapping tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Visio).
- Exceptional technical and business writing skills with the ability to explain "the why" behind policy/procedure changes to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborative team player who works well with others across functions.
- Workday Experience: Functional experience with Workday Financials and/or Procurement.
- Six Sigma or Lean certification for process improvement.
- Strong Analytical skills.
- Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, above average Excel skills with Excel tools to analyze large data.
- Ability to complete projects timely and accurately.
- Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
