Overview Of The Role
WestJet is seeking an experienced and driven Business Analyst to join our Turn Management Platform Project team. Reporting to the Director, Operational Support & Programs, this role will play a critical part in delivering technology-enabled solutions that support operational excellence across the organization.
The successful candidate will bring proven experience supporting complex implementation projects involving multiple integrated systems. Combining strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of business processes, you will partner with stakeholders across Operations, Technology, and Project teams to identify business needs, optimize workflows, and deliver solutions that improve operational performance, data management, and reporting capabilities.
This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive, collaborative professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about driving meaningful business change.
Key Deliverables Include
- Partner with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and project leaders to define project scope, objectives, and business requirements.
- Analyze, document, and validate current-state processes and design future-state workflows that support operational goals.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and working sessions to drive alignment across business, technology, and project teams.
- Translate business needs, assumptions, and risks into clear functional, technical, and process documentation.
- Support project delivery activities, including planning, progress tracking, risk and issue management, and stakeholder reporting.
- Collaborate with Agile development teams to ensure solutions meet business requirements and deliver intended outcomes.
- Coordinate and support testing, implementation, system enhancements, and other project activities to ensure successful delivery.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a Business Analyst role, supporting technology implementations and business transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience gathering, documenting, and managing business and technical requirements.
- Strong process mapping and documentation skills, including current-state and future-state analysis.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills in both in-person and virtual environments.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
- Proven ability to think critically, solve problems creatively, and drive solutions forward.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
- Familiarity with both Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Experience working within Agile development environments.
- Strong interest in technology, systems integration, and continuous improvement.
- IIBA Certification (CBAP, CCBA, ECBA) and/or CAPM designation.
- Previous experience within the airline, aviation, or transportation industry.
- Experience supporting enterprise platforms, operational systems, or data-driven transformation initiatives.
