Responsibilities
- Analyze project financial performance, including budgets, cost-to-complete, cash flow, margins, and variance analysis.
- Support preparation of monthly project cost reports and commercial dashboards.
- Assist with forecasting, revenue recognition, and financial modelling for ongoing and future projects.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities and support mitigation strategies.
- Work with project teams to monitor contract compliance, change management, and cost control.
- Support review and analysis of change orders, claims, and commercial correspondence.
- Track key commercial KPIs across projects and divisions.
- Assist in developing standardized commercial processes and reporting tools.
- Support bid and proposal teams with commercial inputs, cost analysis, and risk assessments.
- Assist in reviewing tender documentation, contractual terms, and commercial conditions.
- Participate in post-bid reviews and lessons learned.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytical tools to support management decision-making.
- Consolidate data from multiple systems (ERP, accounting, project controls) to produce meaningful insights.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of commercial data.
- Liaise with project managers, finance, estimating, procurement, and senior leadership.
- Present findings and insights to internal stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across commercial and operational functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in a commercial, financial, or business analyst role within construction, infrastructure, or engineering environments.
- Strong understanding of project financials, cost control, and commercial management.
- Experience supporting large-scale construction or infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Power BI or similar tools is an asset.
- Familiarity with construction ERP systems and project controls software.
- Solid understanding of contracts, change management, and commercial risk.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
