Growth is at the heart of everything we do – from supporting our people to grow in confidence and skills to pursue their unique paths, to figuring out how to make our food and coffee even more delicious and accessible.
Now, on to the AI Business Analyst role…
The AI Business Analyst will report to the Strategy & Transformation Director and play a central role in helping Pret redesign how work gets done across our global functions. This is not a traditional business analysis role. The focus is to identify, shape and deliver practical opportunities to embed generative AI, agentic AI and automation into business processes in a way that improves productivity, decision-making, customer experience and team effectiveness.
You will work across Support Centre functions, shops, markets, franchise partners, technology teams and third-party suppliers to understand current ways of working, challenge existing processes and design future-state workflows that make intelligent use of tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT and other emerging AI platforms.
The role will combine strong business analysis fundamentals with AI fluency, process redesign, change management and adoption expertise. You will translate business opportunities into clear requirements, use cases, experiments and implementation plans, ensuring that AI-enabled solutions are useful, safe, scalable and adopted by the teams they are designed to support.
The responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders across Pret to identify, assess and prioritise opportunities where generative AI, agentic AI, automation or improved data workflows could simplify processes, reduce manual effort, improve decision-making or unlock new capability.
- Lead discovery and process redesign workshops to map current-state ways of working, uncover pain points, identify root causes and define future-state AI-enabled workflows across functions such as Marketing, Operations, Food, Finance, People, Technology and Supply Chain.
- Translate business problems into clear AI use cases, user journeys, requirements, success measures, guardrails, data needs and delivery plans that can be understood by both business and technical teams.
- Working with Engineers to design practical agentic and generative AI workflows, including prompts, inputs, outputs, human-in-the-loop controls, escalation points, decision rights, audit requirements and operational ownership models.
- Work with technology, data, security, legal and delivery partners to ensure AI-enabled solutions are feasible, compliant, secure, well governed and aligned with Pret’s technology standards, policies and data protection requirements.
- Support the delivery of proof of concepts, pilots and scaled rollouts, including requirements definition, backlog shaping & prioritisation, acceptance criteria, testing, business readiness, launch planning and early-life support.
- Develop benefit cases and value-tracking approaches for AI initiatives, including productivity gains, revenue growth, cost savings, adoption and team experience.
- Support Finance with cost tracking of token usage across different use cases across the business
- Use AI tools in your own BA practice to accelerate requirements gathering, meeting synthesis, process documentation, user story creation, options analysis and executive-ready communication.
- Create clear process maps, business requirements, AI workflow specifications, testing criteria, training materials, adoption plans and stakeholder communications that enable teams to understand and confidently adopt new ways of working.
- Establish, maintain and govern reusable AI enablement repositories, including prompt libraries, workflow templates, approved use cases, playbooks, training materials and examples, ensuring content is version-controlled, quality assured, easy to access and kept up to date as tools and processes evolve.
- Plan and support change management activity, including stakeholder engagement, communications, training, coaching, adoption measurement and feedback loops to ensure new tools and processes are embedded sustainably.
- Monitor live AI-enabled processes after launch, capturing user feedback, identifying issues, refining workflows and ensuring benefits are realised without compromising control, quality or accountability.
The perks
- An annual salary of £60,000 per year and 10% bonus potential
- A Gold Card! That means when you’re in the office, your food and drinks are on us. And when you’re not, you get 5 free drinks a day and 50% off everything else
