Who You Are

This role is for one of our US clients, and you would be joining their team directly while being supported by Puente through the hiring process. Our client is an edtech company serving Latin America with a strong engineering culture. Their product teams work cross-functionally using agile methodologies and build systems that scale across the region. You will join a 13-person engineering team leading a year-long platform migration. The team works in sprints, and you will collaborate closely to migrate features from a TypeScript monolith to a service-oriented architecture on AWS.Key Responsibilities

You migrate features from a TypeScript monolith (AdonisJS) to a service-oriented architecture on AWS, working in sprints alongside the team. This is an execution role: you design, build, and solve concrete problems while maintaining code quality. This role fits someone who wants hands-on ownership of backend systems and enjoys the challenge of modernizing production platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Migrate features from the monolithic platform to a service-oriented architecture on AWS.
- Design and build APIs and microservices using event-driven patterns (SNS, SQS, EventBridge).
- Deliver solutions sprint by sprint as the team prioritizes them.
- Participate in daily standups and weekly planning with the engineering team.
- Identify and resolve complex problems while maintaining code quality standards.
- Apply Domain Driven Design principles to build secure, reusable APIs.
