Data should drive decisions, not sit in spreadsheets gathering dust. If you believe that too, we want to talk to you.

BSS, part of the Travis Perkins Group, is looking for a Data Analyst to play a central role in the management and migration of our master data as part of a major ERP programme. This is not a back office number-crunching job. It is hands-on, high-visibility work that shapes how the business manages its product and supplier information for years to come.

From day one you can expect to be trusted with real responsibility, because this role genuinely matters to the success of the business.

This is a HYBRID position, being based at either Magna Park, Lutterworth, or Crosspoint in Coventry

What you'll be doing

You Will Be The Person Who Turns Raw, Messy Data Into Something The Business Can Actually Trust And Act On. Day To Day, That Means

  • Using automated tools to extract master data from primary and secondary sources, then analysing it to understand and improve data quality
  • Owning data governance, including managing dependencies across projects and the wider TP Group
  • Keeping the project on track by monitoring the schedule and phasing, flagging progress and challenges clearly along the way
  • Supporting the business with data cleanse activities using internal software and portals
  • Translating stakeholder requirements into clear reporting documentation, and preparing final analysis reports that help leaders make confident, fact-based decisions
  • Supporting the wider group on a single solution for product and supplier master data management
  • Running user acceptance testing across the data stream, including documentation, communication and issue resolution

What we're looking for

Essential

  • Previous experience working in a data environment, with good business acumen and a real appreciation of data governance
  • Strong SQL ability alongside excellent Google and data analysis skills
  • A genuinely excellent communicator who can relate to a broad range of people and write clear technical documentation
  • Someone who works well on their own initiative with minimal supervision
  • Sharp attention to detail, forward thinking and naturally innovative

Nice To Have

  • An understanding or interest in Artificial Intelligence
  • Superior organisational skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise your own workload
  • A deep understanding of working in a similar data environment

Why BSS

You will join a collaborative Data Team within Finance, working closely with stakeholders across multiple brands and tackling problems with real complexity and reach. You will need to balance the big picture with the fine detail, and your work will directly influence decisions at group level.

If you want data work that has genuine impact and the trust to get on and deliver it, we would love to hear from you. Apply today.
