Senior M&A Business Analyst

We are looking for a Senior M&A Business Analyst to join our Berlin office. You will lead analytical work on M&A opportunities in the energy and battery-storage sectors, shape investment decisions, and support deal execution. In this senior role, you will own key analytical workstreams, coordinate cross-functional input, and help ensure high-quality decision-ready outputs. Your work will help expand and strengthen our portfolio across Europe and other key markets.
What you would work on?
- Analyse markets, competitors, regulation and technology across the energy and battery-storage sectors.
- Source and evaluate M&A opportunities, including BESS deals, and support due diligence through to deal close.
- Build and review financial models, investment cases, valuation scenarios and cost analyses.
- Structure analytical approaches and produce clear, decision-ready materials for senior stakeholders.
- Own analytical workstreams end-to-end, manage concurrent projects and escalate issues with proposed solutions.
- Coordinate input from internal teams and work with external stakeholders, including banks, co-investors and partners where needed.
- Support portfolio optimisation, growth initiatives and post-acquisition integration where relevant.
- Guide junior analysts, review their work and help maintain quality standards across team deliverables.
- Degree in business, finance or a STEM field.
- Experience in M&A, investment analysis, corporate finance, consulting, financial modelling or business analysis.
- Strong financial-modelling skills, including DCF, IRR, NPV, scenario analysis and investment cases.
- Advanced analytical capability and ability to structure complex problems independently.
- Solid data-handling, analysis and visualisation skills; Python or automation experience is a plus.
- Fluency in German and English is required.
- Curious, quick to learn and comfortable applying critical and creative thinking to business problems.
