Job Description
- Identifies, engages, cultivates, solicits, and stewards a donor portfolio including individuals, corporations, physicians, staff, and administrators.
- Focuses on securing gifts below $10,000 following the Master Core Process.
- Meets or exceeds visit metrics of 2 to 6 meetings per week, 8-24 meetings per month, and 80-240 meetings per year to achieve annual fundraising goals.
- Plans and executes introductory events to initiate relationships between prospective donors and the organization.
- Coordinates engagement processes involving hospital leadership, physicians, nurses, board members, and volunteers.
- Communicates compelling messages to key stakeholders aligned with the organization's mission and vision.
- Documents all visits, solicitations, and moves within the Core Process in Raiser’s Edge for monthly reporting and tracking.
- Participates in pipeline development activities to engage potential donors and ensure a sustainable portfolio.
- Collaborates with Gen Champions and Annual Fund staff to grow participation rates for both programs using social media and other techniques.
- Maintains current knowledge and skills relevant to the fundraising profession.
- Ability and desire to share the mission of the hospital system throughout the community. [Required]
- Understand the principles of donor marketing and fundraising cost-effectiveness, including donor targeting, donor giving opportunity development, organizational need and solutions-based selling, and expense to profit ratio. [Required]
- Appreciate the need for consistency within branding and marketing mix. [Required]
- Currently have or be willing to build an established network of community and business relationships. [Required]
- Adept in use of MS Office products, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. [Required]
- Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high-quality gift pipeline development. [Required]
- Natural forward planner with the ability to critically assess own performance. [Required]
- Mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing with senior managers, company executives, board members, and grateful patients. [Required]
- Empathetic communicator, able to see things from the other person’s point of view. [Required]
- Sufficiently mobile and flexible to travel within required areas. [Required]
- Knowledge in fundraising and donor prospect software, such as Raiser’s Edge. [Preferred]
- Commitment to building a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization. [Required]
- Flexible to travel within specified areas as needed. [Required]
- Proficiency in database management and Microsoft Outlook. [Required]
- Experience with online and social media communication. [Required]
- Familiar with donor, grants, database management, and bookkeeping. [Required]
- Associate [Required]
- Bachelor's [Preferred]
- 2+ experience in marketing, business development or fundraising [Required]
- Grant-writing experience [Preferred]
- Prior development experience [Preferred]
Pay Range
$45,196.93 - $84,071.39
