Role Profile: Technical Business Analyst

Brightstar.ai — Technology Value Creation

Mission

Play a core role in Brightstar.AI’s technology value-creation engagements by leading structured discovery activities, owning analysis and documentation, and shaping well-founded technical intervention recommendations. This role suits an experienced Technical Business Analyst who can operate independently within portfolio companies while working closely with senior Brightstar.ai leaders.

Core Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead structured discovery sessions with portfolio company stakeholders across business and technology functions
  • Own capture of meeting minutes, decisions, risks, and actions, ensuring accuracy and clarity
  • Develop clear current-state documentation covering business processes, applications, data, and technology architecture
  • Analyze gaps, constraints, and opportunities aligned to defined value-creation objectives
  • Translate business challenges into clearly articulated technical, data, and AI-driven intervention options
  • Support prioritization of initiatives based on value potential, complexity, and feasibility
  • Produce high-quality discovery outputs, executive summaries, and recommendation packs
  • Present findings and recommendations to Brightstar.ai leadership and portfolio company management
  • Coordinate follow-ups, actions, and dependencies across active engagements

Skills & Capabilities

  • Strong analytical, problem-structuring, and synthesis skills
  • Ability to translate between business requirements and technical considerations
  • Solid understanding of modern software, data, and cloud architectures
  • Working knowledge of AI / machine learning concepts and applied use cases
  • Excellent written documentation and presentation skills
  • Confident stakeholder engagement and facilitation capability

Experience

  • Approximately 4–6 years’ experience in business analysis, technology consulting, or technology-enabled transformation roles
  • Experience operating in client-facing or stakeholder-heavy environments
  • Hands-on involvement in discovery, requirements definition, or solution shaping activities
  • Exposure to private equity, portfolio companies, or complex multi-stakeholder organizations is advantageous

Qualifications

  • Essential: Bachelor’s degree in a technical or analytical discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Data, Information Systems, Mathematics)
  • Desirable: Postgraduate qualification in business, management, or strategy (e.g. MBA or MSc)
  • Relevant professional certifications in business analysis or technology frameworks are a plus

Structured, commercially aware, and delivery-focused. Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy while engaging credibly with senior stakeholders. Motivated by impact and interested in building deep experience across technology, AI, and private-equity value creation.
