Technical Business Analyst
Indexed description
Technical Business Analyst | Global Electronic Trading | London - There aren't many projects in capital markets right now with the scale and profile of this one. Miller Maxwell is working with a leading international electronic trading firm to find a Technical Business Analyst to join the team driving it — sitting right at the point where engineering, product, and the firm's biggest clients meet.
You won't be one BA among many on a routine build. You'll be the person clients and engineers both come to when something needs translating — technical detail into business sense, business need into a spec an engineering team can actually build against. It's a role for someone who wants ownership, visibility, and a project people will still be talking about in a few years.
Duties for the Technical Business Analyst:
- Working directly with clients to unpick what they actually need, not just what they've asked for.
- Sitting with engineering, product, and sales to turn that into requirements that hold up under scrutiny.
- Juggling several fast-moving workstreams at once without losing sight of the bigger delivery goals.
- Explaining gnarly technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders in a way that actually lands.
Background and experience required for the Technical Business Analyst:
- A STEM degree (2:1 or above).
- 5+ years as a Technical Business Analyst in financial services, specifically within electronic trading — front-office, brokerage, exchange, an ISV, a software vendor, or market data.
- Experience within Equities or Fixed Income markets.
- Enough familiarity with Java, Python, or C++ to hold your own in an architecture conversation, even if you're not writing the code.
- Strong stakeholder management, equally comfortable with senior leadership and engineering teams.
Why this one's worth a look:
It's rare to get access to a project of this size this early. You'd be joining a global, forward-thinking team with real investment behind it — one that treats BAs as strategic partners, not ticket-writers — with genuine scope to grow as the programme does.
