The IT Requirements Engineer is a key role within Crane's European IT organization, responsible for partnering with business stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities, gather and document business requirements, and deliver technology solutions that improve operational efficiency and business performance.


This position serves as the bridge between business functions and technology teams, ensuring business needs are translated into practical, scalable, and supportable solutions. The role will drive continuous improvement initiatives through process optimization, automation, data analysis, and digital transformation efforts while supporting strategic business objectives across manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, and shared services functions.


The successful candidate will work closely with site leadership, business stakeholders, and global IT teams to deliver measurable business value through technology-enabled process improvements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business stakeholders to analyze operational challenges and identify opportunities for process improvement and digital transformation.
  • Gather, document, and translate business requirements into functional solutions, process models, and user stories.
  • Analyze business processes, perform gap analyses, and support the design of efficient, scalable future-state solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through automation, workflow optimization, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, KPIs, and business insights to support operational and strategic objectives.
  • Support the implementation and continuous enhancement of Microsoft Power Platform solutions, including Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout project lifecycles, including testing, deployment, user adoption, and change management activities.
  • Ensure solutions comply with corporate governance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, promoting technology-enabled improvements and operational excellence.


Essential Qualifications / Experience:

  • Experience in Business Analysis, Process Engineering, IT Operations, Digital Transformation, or related field
  • Strong experience gathering and documenting business requirements
  • Experience creating process maps, workflow documentation, and business cases
  • Understanding of automation technologies and workflow platforms
  • Experience working with cross-functional business teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills
  • Highly self-motivated with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Familiarity with IT governance, security, and compliance requirements
  • Conversational level of English
  • Ability to travel up to 10% as required


Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
  • Experience with ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, Infor, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
  • Experience with project management methodologies
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Knowledge of Change Management frameworks
  • Experience with SQL and data analytics tools
  • Experience with requirements management platforms such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or ServiceNow
  • General scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python)
  • Manufacturing industry experience

  • Track record of driving incremental change via process and/or IT tools
  • Ability to translate technical IT terminology into simple business solutions
  • Integrity and ethical qualities of the highest standard and comfort in raising awareness to concerns up the leadership chain of command
  • Self-starter with desire to foster a sense of urgency when addressing customer and business concerns
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and employee productivity
  • Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving thought process
