Application Support Engineer - SRE

Our client, a leading global financial institution, is seeking a Reliability & Production Engineer to support business-critical Equity Derivatives trading, risk, and valuation platforms within a fast-paced Front Office environment.

Working closely with Traders, Risk Managers, Quants, Operations, Compliance, and Development teams, you will be responsible for ensuring platform stability, resolving production issues, driving automation, and improving operational efficiency across the Equity Derivatives technology landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and monitor Equity Derivatives trading, pricing, and risk platforms.
• Investigate and resolve issues related to trade booking, valuations, risk calculations, trade lifecycle events, and downstream processing.
• Act as the primary point of contact between Front Office users, Risk, Operations, Quantitative Research, and Technology teams.
• Communicate incidents, service disruptions, and operational risks to stakeholders.
• Develop automation, monitoring, and self-healing solutions, with Python being the preferred language.
• Perform proactive system monitoring and incident management following ITIL best practices.
• Support regulatory inquiries, audit requests, entitlement reviews, and compliance activities.
• Conduct recovery testing, failover exercises, root cause analysis, and resiliency improvements.

• Strong production support, Reliability Engineering, or Application Support experience within a trading environment.
• Good understanding of financial markets and Equity products.
• Knowledge of Equity Derivatives, including options, swaps, structured products, and trade lifecycles.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases (Sybase preferred).
• Python or similar scripting experience for automation.
• Linux/Unix environment knowledge.
• Understanding of ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
