Senior/Staff Platform Engineer

Senior/Staff Platform Engineer | Travel Tech | New York City | Hybrid | $180,000-$225,000

We're partnering exclusively with a fast-growing, Series D-funded travel tech company based in NYC, to find a Senior or Staff Platform Engineer to join their expanding engineering team.

The Role

You'll own the reliability, scalability, and developer experience of the platform's core infrastructure — CI/CD, cloud architecture, observability, and security. This isn't a siloed ops role; you'll partner directly with engineering leadership, shape SLOs and error budgets, and have real influence over the architecture decisions that let the business scale.

What They're Looking For

• 5+ years of engineering experience, including 2+ in platform engineering
• Strong AWS experience (EKS, RDS, ALB/ELB, SQS, CloudWatch, IAM)
• Proven track record with infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred)
• PostgreSQL administration experience — performance tuning, replication, connection management
• Experience with message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Celery, or similar)
• Proficiency with monitoring/observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, or similar)
• CI/CD and deployment strategy experience (blue-green, canary, feature flags)
• Solid grounding in security best practice — secrets management, network segmentation, compliance
• Container orchestration experience in production (Kubernetes preferred)
• Someone who communicates well, takes ownership, and has an entrepreneurial mindset
