Backend Engineer (Infrastructure)
Indexed description
The infrastructure team has different end-to-end responsibilities, ranging from physical hardware in data centers, to building abstractions for other engineering teams, to game server allocation services running on Kubernetes. We have the autonomy to decide how we build, shape, and scale our systems to ensure low-latency, high-reliability experiences for players globally.
This role offers the unique challenge of working at the intersection of low-level systems and global-scale cloud services, solving performance and networking puzzles that only emerge when millions of players interact in real-time.
Our Tech stack
We build a cutting-edge hybrid service (On-prem/GCP) using:
- Languages: Go, Rust, C++/Unreal
- Infrastructure: Kubernetes, Agones, Quilkin, Talos/Omni, Istio
- Tooling: Terraform, Bazel
- Develop new features for our Game Server allocation services.
- Maintain core libraries used by all backend teams in the organization.
- Maintain and evolve our infrastructure builds and CI tooling.
- Architect and harden new services for production, focusing on observability and on-call readiness.
- Automate workflows to ensure our services remain easy to deploy and scale.
- Collaborate and communicate clearly with cross-team stakeholders.
- Scaled Go backend systems running on Kubernetes.
- A strong background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and a passion for keeping 24/7 services running smoothly.
- Experience managing Kubernetes on-premises and a focus on performance optimization.
- Worked with hybrid networking and service meshes.
We welcome people from all backgrounds and are looking forward to reading more about you (in English)!
