Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Deliver well-scoped features from development through to production, with support from senior engineers on design.
  • Collaborate with product managers, solution architects, and DevOps engineers to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Contribute to application reliability, performance, and compliance with security and regulatory standards.
  • Build and maintain integrations with external systems and APIs.
  • Write clean, testable, efficient code following best practices and established design principles.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain a culture of technical excellence.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience: 3+ years of professional Java development experience.
  • Solid knowledge of Java 21+ and Spring Boot for building RESTful and event-driven microservices.
  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORM frameworks (Hibernate, JPA).
  • Good understanding of API design (REST, OpenAPI) and integration best practices.
  • Familiarity with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and asynchronous processing.
  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), Docker, and CI/CD tooling (Maven/Gradle, GitHub Actions).
  • Solid experience with unit and integration testing (JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers).
  • Good grasp of software engineering principles, data structures, and design patterns.
  • Familiarity with security concepts such as encryption, authentication, and token-based access (OAuth2, JWT) is a strong plus.
  • Practical use of AI coding assistants and LLMs in the development workflow.
  • Payments or fintech experience will be considered a strong advantage.

What we value

  • Precision & reliability – building software that meets the highest standards for performance and accuracy.
  • Security-first mindset – understanding and applying strong security practices throughout the development process.
  • Adaptability – moving between domains, clients, and problem spaces without losing momentum.
  • Collaboration – working effectively with diverse technical and business stakeholders across teams and geographies.
  • Ownership & accountability – taking initiative to deliver high-quality, production-ready code.
  • Curiosity & innovation – staying up to date with emerging trends across the payments industry.
