DevOps Engineer

Our client is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join a growing enterprise data team. This person will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of the company's data platform. Working alongside data engineering, analytics, and infrastructure teams, you'll help support business-critical data pipelines while driving improvements in automation, monitoring, and overall platform health.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS:

• Monitor, maintain, and optimize enterprise data pipelines supporting both real-time and batch processing
• Troubleshoot data ingestion, transformation, and delivery issues to ensure reliable data availability
• Manage and optimize Snowflake environments, including warehouses, databases, security roles, and resource utilization
• Support Kafka infrastructure by monitoring clusters, topics, partitions, and consumer groups
• Develop automation and scripting to improve deployment, monitoring, recovery, and operational efficiency
• Partner closely with Data Engineering, Analytics, and Infrastructure teams to improve platform performance and reliability
• Implement data quality checks, operational alerts, and monitoring to proactively identify issues
• Contribute to CI/CD processes and support ongoing data governance, security, and compliance initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of experience in Data Operations, Data Engineering, or a related technical role
• Strong experience supporting production data platforms
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, including performance tuning, security, and data management
• Experience working with Kafka and streaming data technologies
• Strong SQL skills and experience with Python or another scripting language
• Experience working in a cloud environment (AWS preferred)
• Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow or dbt
• Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and modern data architecture.
