Qualifications and requirements
- Between 0 and 2 years of professional software development experience. Strong personal or academic projects are also considered.
- Knowledge of C# and .NET.
- Understanding of ASP.NET Core Web API, dependency injection, and async/await.
- Basic SQL Server knowledge, including joins and the ability to analyze queries.
- Experience using Git in day-to-day development.
- Experience using an AI coding agent such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or a similar tool.
- Ability to review, test, and validate AI-generated code before submitting it.
- English level B2 or higher, especially for technical documentation.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Availability during working hours that overlap with Ecuador and Switzerland.
- Own computer and reliable internet connection.
- Ability to work as an independent contractor and submit monthly invoices in USD.
Projects
Capital Services is a Swiss money transfer company whose technology platform supports international financial transactions.
You will join a small engineering team based in Ecuador and work remotely from Latin America. The team develops and modernizes the company’s core platform using .NET, SQL Server, REST APIs, React, and TypeScript.
You will work directly with the technical lead and collaborate with other developers through code reviews, documented technical decisions, and structured development workflows. Every change is reviewed before being merged.
The team is currently modernizing legacy applications and progressively migrating services into a more scalable architecture and monorepo.
Job functions
- Develop and maintain backend services and REST APIs using C# and .NET.
- Implement new endpoints and business logic for the money transfer platform.
- Write automated tests as part of each feature.
- Work with SQL Server databases, queries, and stored procedures.
- Create and maintain technical documentation in English, including README files, ADRs, and OpenAPI specifications.
- Participate in code reviews and improve code based on feedback.
- Review and validate code generated with AI-assisted development tools.
- Support the gradual migration of legacy applications to a modern architecture.
- Collaborate directly with the technical lead and other developers.
- Communicate progress, blockers, and completed work through short asynchronous updates.
Success in this position will be measured by the quality, reliability, maintainability, and completeness of the features delivered.
