About the Job
Role: Crypto Production Engineer
Location: Sydney, Australia
Client: Global leading proprietary trading firm
Total Compensation: $600k+ TC
A global leading proprietary trading firm is hiring a Crypto Production Engineer to join their Production Engineering team.
This is a hands-on role owning crypto infrastructure end to end — validators, RPC nodes, light clients — at one of the most technically sophisticated trading firms in the world. If you've managed proof-of-stake infrastructure and want to work somewhere where uptime and technical excellence genuinely matter — this is worth a look.
What you'll be doing
- Building and operating large-scale infrastructure across multiple blockchains
- Owning on-chain infrastructure including validators, light clients, and RPC nodes
- Improving monitoring, alerting, and observability across crypto systems
- Experimenting with emerging blockchain technologies and contributing to crypto strategy
- Automating, optimising, and scaling infrastructure across hybrid cloud and bare-metal environments
- Hardening security across key management, server configuration, and intrusion detection
What they're looking for
- Hands-on experience managing proof-of-stake blockchain infrastructure — Solana or Ethereum preferred
- Strong Linux fundamentals with Kubernetes, networking, and observability experience
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools
- Proven ability to design, build, and maintain complex high-availability systems
- Exposure to DeFi and on-chain trading
- Comfortable in a flat, fast-moving team with shifting priorities
- A genuine passion for blockchain and the drive to stay ahead of it
Why this opportunity
Crypto Production Engineer roles at firms of this calibre don't come up often. This isn't a bank with a crypto side project or a startup finding its feet — this is one of the most technically advanced trading firms in the world, with the resources, infrastructure, and engineering talent to match.
You'd be working on problems that genuinely don't exist anywhere else — consensus algorithms, distributed systems, cryptography, secure key management — all in a production environment where the stakes are real. The team is global, flat, and fast-moving, and there's real ownership from day one rather than being a cog in a large machine.
