Use your knowledge of blockchain technology at KBC Group and help build the future of the financial sector.

The opportunity is clear: blockchain enables transactions at any time, in real time, and without intermediaries — including conditional transactions. Digital assets are already transforming the U.S. banking system through stablecoins. Europe could soon follow.

As a functional or technical expert in blockchain technology and digital assets, you will strengthen an international team that is seizing this momentum. Together with your colleagues, you will examine the benefits of digital assets from both a technical and customer perspective, integrate them into our offering, and gradually expand them in the coming years.

What do we expect from you?

It sits at the intersection of finance, technology, and financial regulation. You won’t be contributing to a ‘blockchain experiment,’ but rather building a strategic platform that will deliver real value to our European customers.

You will be part of the Digital Assets program at KBC Group, where you will work with colleagues to develop a strategic platform for stablecoins, tokenized deposits, tokenized funds, and smart contracts.

On this platform, you will create reusable building blocks that can be used across different countries and business lines for various use cases. Within a strictly regulated environment, you ensure these building blocks are technically robust, scalable, and compliant.

Depending on your background, strengths, and interests, you may focus on:

• Technical design: focusing on security, availability, auditability, etc.
• Solution architecture: translating requirements into end-to-end technical architectures, ensuring consistency, addressing non-functional requirements from a risk perspective, and guiding development teams
• Digital assets engineering: implementing blockchain and DLT components, integrating wallets, key management and HSM/MPC-based signing flows, reviewing smart contracts, and providing technical support

Your key strengths?

• You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree and have strong knowledge of blockchain technology, which you are eager to further expand and deepen
• Like your colleagues, you enjoy achieving ambitious goals together and demonstrate flexibility, drive, and determination
• You are solution- and customer-oriented, with an understanding of the strongly regulated nature of the financial sector — a context whose complexity you find engaging
• You communicate fluently in Dutch and English, and can clearly explain technical matters in both languages
