The Markets Systems team has recently been established to provide a single, system‑wide lens across public and private markets, enabling whole‑of‑ASIC risk coordination, stronger market design outcomes assessed holistically, earlier detection of emerging risks across asset classes and interconnections, and clearer visibility of risk build‑up such as leverage and concentration that can inform stress and supervisory responses.
The Role
As an Analyst within System Risk, you will contribute to initiatives that support ASIC's regulatory priorities and the effective operation of Australia's financial markets. Working across a range of complex issues, you will provide analysis and advice to support policy development, regulatory reform, market supervision outcomes and strategic risk priorities.
You Will
- Contribute to regulatory policy, reform and strategic initiatives impacting financial markets.
- Undertake research, analysis and interpretation of legislation, policy and market developments to inform decision-making.
- Collect, analyse and interpret market intelligence and data to identify risks, issues and emerging trends.
- Assist in implementing regulatory reforms through changes to frameworks, processes, systems and guidance.
- Develop high-quality written material including briefings, regulatory publications, presentations and stakeholder communications.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support regulatory and risk outcomes.
You are naturally curious, adaptable and solutions-focused, with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. You build effective stakeholder relationships, communicate with influence and confidence, and work collaboratively to resolve issues and drive outcomes. You are comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities and navigating ambiguity while maintaining a focus on quality outcomes and risk management.
