About The Role

On-chain governance is one of the least solved problems in the blockchain industry. Most protocols bolt on a governance mechanism as an afterthought. Mintlayer is investing in a dedicated Head of Governance to design a framework that actually works for ML token holders, the protocol, and the regulatory environments where Mintlayer operates.

What You Will Own

• Design Mintlayer's on-chain governance framework: ML token voting mechanics, proposal thresholds, quorum requirements, and time-lock parameters
• Architect the governance smart contract infrastructure with the protocol engineering team
• Design the DAO treasury architecture: allocation authority, multisig structures, and treasury management policies
• Build community participation structures: proposal creation process, delegate system, and governance forum standards
• Produce governance documentation
• Advise the board on legal treatment of governance decisions under ADGM and international frameworks
• Develop the decentralization roadmap

What You Bring

• Deep understanding of DAO governance models: Compound, Nouns, Uniswap-style, and beyond
• Experience designing or advising on token-based governance systems in production
• Legal awareness of governance structures in regulated jurisdictions
• Strong writing — governance documentation is public and permanent
