The role

We are looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer to help build and operate a modern cloud data platform that powers analytics, BI, and AI use cases. This role combines analytical warehouse engineering, data platform design, and core cloud infrastructure responsibilities. You will optimize warehouse performance, manage secure and scalable platform services, improve CI/CD and observability, and provide the technical foundations that enable reliable data products.

What you will do

• Manage and optimize BigQuery environments, including datasets, materialized views, partitioning, workload performance, and cost efficiency.
• Build and maintain platform capabilities for real-time and analytical workloads using technologies such as ClickHouse and object storage services.
• Design and support data platform architecture across warehouse, lake, and multi-store patterns to meet analytics and ML consumption needs.
• Develop and maintain semantic layer foundations and metadata/catalog capabilities to improve discoverability, consistency, and reuse.
• Implement and enforce platform security controls, including IAM, encryption, key management, and role-based data access patterns.
• Provision and manage cloud resources across projects, networking, orchestration services, and supporting platform components.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and support reliable CI/CD workflows for platform delivery.
• Set up and improve monitoring, operational dashboards, and platform-level observability for performance, reliability, and incident response.
• Partner with analytics, engineering, and data science teams to provide well-governed, scalable data services and self-service platform capabilities.

What you bring

• Strong hands-on experience with BigQuery or a comparable cloud analytical warehouse platform.
• Solid experience with cloud infrastructure engineering in GCP or a similar cloud environment.
• Good knowledge of SQL and Python for platform administration, automation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tooling.
• Experience with IAM, KMS, encryption, access control, and secure platform design.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, orchestration platforms, monitoring, and operational reliability practices.
• Ability to balance platform scalability, performance, governance, and cost optimization.
• Strong collaboration skills across engineering, analytics, and business-facing teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with ClickHouse, Minio, Dataplex, or similar ecosystem tools.
• Experience supporting semantic models, data catalogs, or metadata management solutions.
• Exposure to ML enablement patterns or platform services used by analytics and data science teams.
• Familiarity with privacy, compliance, and regulated-data controls in enterprise environments.
